KMS Windows 7 (Not Genuine) Fix

How to Resolve Windows 7 Enterprise KMS Client (Not Genuine)
Requires a Reboot and Elevated Permissions  

  1. Open the command Prompt with Elevation.
    1. Click Start.
    2. In the Start Search box, type cmd, and then press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER.
    3. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
  2. Run the following command script to re-arm windows.
    1. cscript slmgr.vbs /rearm
    2. If you get this error message…
      1. “Error: 0xC004D307 The maximum allowed number of re-arms has been exceeded. You must re-install the OS before trying to re-arm again”
      2. Make the following change to the machines registry.
        1. Click Start.
        2. In the Start Search box, type regedit, and then press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER.
        3. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
        4. Browse to the following folder.
          1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
        5. Right click the DWORD “SkipRearm” and choose Modify.
          1. Change the “Value data:” field to 1
          2. Click ok, and exit regedit.
      3. Run the re-arm script again.
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. Open the command Prompt with Elevation as in step 1.
  5. Run the following command script to point Windows to the KMS server:
    1. cscript c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs -skms kms.rutgers.edu
  6. Run the following command script to activate Windows:
    1. cscript c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs -ato
