Consulting Services

What consulting services are offered by ACS?

Administrative Computing provides data consulting to large units in areas of university-level concern. This may also extend to limited hardware and software consulting directly related to such areas.

Administrative Computing cannot, due to budgetary and staffing limitations, provide consulting services to smaller units or on issues of purely local impact. Other components of the Office of Information Technology may be of service in such cases. See the OIT Consulting page for more information.

Does ACS offer Year 2000 consulting services?

Not really. For a while, ACS provided Year 2000 awareness consulting. This involved a series of presentations to make senior management, among others, more conscious of the importance of the upcoming Year 2000 problem. (For a discussion of this problem, see Year 2000 Awareness.)

Administrative Computing is working assiduously to ensure that its own services are not impaired by the onset of the new date structure. This leaves us with very constrained resources, and precludes any external consulting effort.
